Cabinet committee on public transport to be set up in April, says Transport Minister

PUTRAJAYA: A Cabinet committee to tackle public transport issues will be set up in early April, says the Transport Minister.

Anthony Loke said that committee members would be from various ministries and that it would be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

"The committee will look to take comprehensive steps in solving the current constant traffic congestion issues plaguing the country, among other issues related to public transportation.

"This is part of the unity government's commitment in continuing to enhance and develop the transportation network in the country.

"The committee would also discuss, finalise and release a report on LRT disruption caused by the crack in a pillar between the Bandaraya and Masjid Jamek LRT Stations," he said.
