Action will be taken against those who name-drop us, says PMO

KUALA LUMPUR: Stern action will be taken against those who misuse the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) title for their vested interests.

The PMO said it was a serious matter that there were certain parties who were name-dropping the PMO for their own purposes.

"Such actions are very irresponsible and it gives a negative impact on the credibility of the PMO and the government.

"Therefore, the PMO will not hesitate to take further action, including legal measures, towards those involved in such matters," said the PMO in a brief statement on Wednesday (March 15).

The PMO’s statement came following a remark by Ayer Hitam MP Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, who said an individual called "Deepak" had called him on Tuesday (March 14) to resolve issues pertaining to the egg shortage issue raised in Parliament recently.

Dr Wee said he was told by Deepak to issue a clarification on the egg shortage issue following alleged discussions with the PMO.
