Man stabs coworker in oil palm estate in Sibu


SIBU: An Indonesian was murdered to death by his countryman at their workers' quarters of an oil palm estate in Dalat on Saturday (March 11) night.

Dalat OCPD Deputy Supt Saga Chunggat said the suspect, 51, had stabbed the victim, 30 with a sharp object in his stomach.

"The victim was rushed to Hospital Dalat by the company security guard. However he succumbed to serious injury on his stomach in the emergency ward of the hospital," he said.

DSP Saga the murder happened as a result of a misunderstanding between the victim, the suspect and their foreman.

"We have classified the case as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code," he said.

DSP Saga said the suspect ran off after the incident.

He appealed to members of the public who might have any information on the suspect or know his whereabouts to contact the case investigating officer Inspector Rahim Bin Ramli at 017-4211852.
