KUALA LUMPUR: There was no external interference by the Home Minister when he gave an exemption under the Societies Act 1966 to stop any contest for the top two posts in the upcoming Umno party polls, says Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The Umno president said the decision was made in line with clauses under the Act which requires validation from the Registrar of Societies (ROS).
