KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman deputy management director Deputy Comm Datuk Nerita Yaacob has been appointed as the department's acting director.
She is taking over from Comm Datuk Seri Zaini Jass, who went through mandatory retirement on Wednesday (March 8).
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani attended the handing over ceremony held at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol).
The IGP said all members of the police force were thankful for the exemplary leadership and sacrifice shown by Comm Zaini throughout his 38-year career.
"Congratulations to Nerita over her appointment as acting management director.
"I am sure with her experience in the department, she will be able to pick up the mantle successfully," he said in a statement.
