KUALA LUMPUR: Some 300kg of syabu and 2kg of ecstasy pills worth RM10.8mil were seized following several raids in the Klang Valley and Negri Sembilan.

Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Yahaya Othman said seven men and a woman aged between 27 and 61 were also detained in the operation codenamed "Ops Greyhound" on Friday (March 3).

"We managed to bring down a syndicate which has been operating in the Klang Valley since early this year.

"They would get the drugs from suppliers in the northern states and supply the drugs in the Klang Valley and a neighbouring country," he told a press conference at the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters on Tuesday (March 7).

"We also seized seven vehicles, jewellery and cash worth a total of RM481,996," he added.

DCP Yahaya said six of those detained tested positive for methamphetamine.

"We will conduct further investigation to nab the remnants of the syndicate.

"We hope the public can assist us in supplying information on drug-related activities," he said.
