Covid-19 Watch: 204 new cases, says Health Ministry


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 204 new Covid-19 infections on Friday (March 3), says the Health Ministry.

The Health Ministry said through data released on its KKMNow portal on Saturday (March 4) that this brings the new total to 5,043,456 cases since the pandemic began.

Of the 204, four are imported cases and the remaining 200 are local.

The ministry also said through its KKMNow portal that there were 213 recoveries on Friday bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 9,247.

Of the active cases, 96.3% or 8,909 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 3.6% of active cases or 332 individuals need to be hospitalised, with six warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.

Out of the six, one requires ventilator support.
