“The Sembrong Dam recorded a current reservoir level of 12.18m as of 7.30am on Friday (March 3), exceeding the normal reservoir level of 8.5m," he said on Friday (March 3), adding that water was being released at a rate of 15.3 cubic metres per second.
He added the current reservoir level at the Bekok Dam was 20.75m, exceeding the normal reservoir level of 16m but no water was released from the dam.
Mohamad Fazli, who is also the Bukit Pasir assemblyman, said the Machap Dam's current level was 17.45m, against the normal reservoir level of 15.85m.
"This dam received 25.5mm of rain," he said, adding that water was being released at a rate of 27.26 cubic meters per second.
Meanwhile, he said the Labong Dam had a current level of 8.81m compared to the normal level of 8.42m.
He said the Labong Dam received 90mm of rain and water was being released at 1,378 cubic meters per second.
According to Mohamad Fazli, water was released from affected dams to alleviate the situation.
He advised the people to always listen to instructions from the authorities, especially during critical situations like this.
"The government is taking appropriate measures to protect the people and prevent an even greater disaster," he added.
