Three PJ teens nabbed for fighting


PETALING JAYA: Three teenagers have been arrested for fighting at a housing area and near a hypermarket in Ara Damansara here.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said a police report was lodged on the incidents at 11.46pm on Friday (Feb 17).

"We believe both incidents occurred between two groups over teasing and insults that led to anger," he said when contacted on Sunday (Feb 19).

ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin said three teenagers aged between 14 and 16 were detained at 1.10am on Saturday (Feb 18).

"All three boys have been remanded until Tuesday (Feb 21).

"We are investigating under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting without weapons," he said.

He also reminded the public to abide by the law.

"We urge those with information on any criminal activities to contact Petaling Jaya district police headquarters at 03-7966 2222," he added.
