Police probe video of suspected peeping tom in Cheras

KUALA LUMPUR: Investigations are underway to track down a suspected peeping tom that was caught on camera in an apartment here.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Zam Halim Jamaluddin, in a statement on Sunday (Feb 12), said that while a video of the suspicious man had been making its rounds on social media, the police had already received a report on the matter on Jan 16.

The 48-second video showed a man loitering in front of a condominium unit, before slotting his phone through a window.

"As of now, several witnesses have had their statements recorded and a thorough investigation is being conducted," he said.

He added that investigations are currently underway including under the Penal Code for insulting a person's modesty.
