Floods: Situation in Johor improves, only Segamat affected


JOHOR BARU: The flood situation in Johor is improving with Segamat the only district in the state still affected as of 8pm on Wednesday (Feb 8).

Twenty-six victims from nine families are sheltered at the Balairaya Kampung Seberang Batu Badak temporary relief centre in the district.

“All victims at the centre are from Kampung Seberang Batu Badak," the state disaster management committee said in a statement.

It said water level at Sungai Batu Pahat in Bekok, Batu Pahat has surpassed the dangerous level of 18.70m with the current water level at 18.90m.

It added that Jalan Sungai Tiram-Ulu Tiram in Kulai is still closed to all vehicles following landslides along the stretch.
