Johor Baru police announce road closures for Thaipusam


Jalan Ungku Puan (from the Jalan Trus traffic light to the Arulmigu Rajamariamman Devasthanam temple) is one of the roads that is temporary closed to make way for the Thaipusam celebration in the Johor Baru city centre on Feb 4 and Feb 5.

JOHOR BARU: Four roads in the city centre have been cordoned off temporarily to make way for the Thaipusam celebration on Sunday (Feb 5).

The Johor Baru South district police headquarters said that Jalan Ungku Puan will be closed off from the Jalan Trus traffic light to the Arulmigu Rajamariamman Devasthanam temple.

It added in a post on its Facebook page that Jalan Tun Razak 1 heading towards Jalan Tebrau has also been closed from Saturday (Feb 4).

Meanwhile, two out of three lanes along Jalan Trus - Jalan Ibrahim and Jalan Wong Ah Fook have been closed off for the celebration.

“The public is advised to seek alternative roads to avoid traffic congestion as a result of the temporary closures,” it said in a posting.
