Food warehouse in Penang razed in fire.


GEORGE TOWN: A food storage warehouse in Jelutong has been razed by fire, spewing thick smoke into the air.

Firefighters from the Jalan Perak Fire and Rescue Department rushed to the scene and found the warehouse burning at about 10.28pm on Saturday (Feb 4).

"Approximately 80% of the building was damaged and the fire was brought under control at about 10.57pm. No victims were reported in the incident," said a spokesman from the department.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
