Cops on the hunt for man who threw liquor bottles from high-rise onto expressway


KUALA LUMPUR: The police are on the hunt for an individual who had thrown liquor bottles from a high-rise in Kampung Baru onto a nearby expressway.

A video of the incident has since gone viral.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya said police had taken note of the one-minute, 43-second video, which was uploaded to TikTok on Thursday (Feb 2).

"The video showed a man throwing liquor bottles from a balcony of an apartment onto a nearby expressway.

"Initial investigations revealed the incident occurred at Jalan Cendana, Kampung Baru," he said in a statement on Friday (Feb 3).

The police are in the midst of tracking down the individual responsible, he said.

"We urge those with information to come forward to assist the investigation.

"The action in the video is an offence under Section 268 of the Penal Code," he added.

ACP Noor Dellhan advised the public not to be involved with any incident that is against the law.

"Those with information can contact the Dang Wangi district police headquarters at 03-2600 2222 or the KL police hotline at 03-2115 9999 or any nearest police station."
