Two men arrested over suspected drugs distribution


PETALING JAYA: A local man has been arrested for alleged distribution of syabu.

OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the 45-year-old suspect was arrested at the parking lot of a condominium along Jalan PJU8/8, Damansara Perdana at around 5.30pm on Tuesday (Jan 31).

"Police were conducting crime prevention patrols when they noticed a man behaving suspiciously.

"They stopped him and conducted a check before he surrendered about 51gm of syabu," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Feb 1).

He said the suspect would be remanded to assist in investigations for drug distribution.

In a separate case that happened about two hours later on the same day, ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin said police also arrested an elderly man along Jalan PJU8/1, Damansara Perdana for having in his possession ganja.

"Police on their rounds noticed the suspect behaving suspiciously and stopped him.

"They carried out a check and seized a packet containing 10gm of ganja.

"The suspect will also be remanded to assist in investigations," he said.
