905 suspects held over illegal gambling


KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested 905 individuals nationwide for suspected involvement in illegal gambling activities.

The operation, codenamed Op Limau also saw cash totalling RM513,793 seized.

Police secretary Deputy Comm Datuk Noorsiah Saaduddin said a total of 137 raids were carried out during the operation held from Jan 15 to 29.

“Op Limau was conducted to curb illegal gambling activities in conjunction with Chinese New Year,” she said, adding that the public can channel information through the Op Limau WhatsApp hotline at 016-5773477.
