Accident victim's life saved after quick action by Ipoh cops


IPOH: Quick response by traffic police officers saved a man’s life after he was involved in a serious incident at Jalan Sultan Iskandar on Thursday (Jan 26).

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Hassan said the victim was riding a motorcycle when he was involved in an accident with a car.

“Our officers who were on duty rushed to the scene and saw that the victim had a serious head injury.

“They tried to assist the victim before clearing the road for an ambulance to send him to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for immediate medical attention.

“Their quick response not only saved the victim’s life but also avoided a massive traffic crawl on the busy road,” he said Friday (Jan 27).

Comm Yahaya added that six officers and personnel were involved during the incident.

“They are Sergeant Abu Bakar Abu Ahmaf, Corporal Mohd Taib Abdul Ghani and Corporal Mohamad Ermi Che Hussain.

“The other three were all lance corporals, namely Mohd Zulkhairi Ishak, Mohd Nazrul Izaudin Nazar and Faris Addenan,” he said.
