Nilai rep Arul Kumar appointed Transport Minister’s pol-sec


SEREMBAN: Nilai assemblyman J. Arul Kumar will be appointed political secretary to Transport Minister Anthony Loke.

Loke, who is Seremban MP, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has agreed to the appointment.

Arul Kumar, who was Negri Sembilan human resources, plantation and non-Muslim affairs committee chairman, will take up his new position tomorrow (Jan 27).

"The oath-taking ceremony will be held at the Prime Minister's Office in the morning on Jan 27," he said in a statement Thursday (Jan 26).

Loke said Arul, who is into his second term as Nilai assemblyman, resigned from his state exco post today.

"A discussion will be held with Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun to fill the vacant position soon," he added.
