PETALING JAYA: MCA is honoured to welcome multicultural guests to its Lunar New Year open house, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president said in line with the spirit of the unity government, diversity in unity was celebrated under one roof at the open house with the presence of honoured guests such as Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.

Also present were former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M. Saravanan, other ministers and deputies, as well as foreign dignitaries.

"This Chinese New Year is no exception when people from various backgrounds join us in the joyous celebration.

"Despite our differences, we celebrate and protect the diversity of our nation with the spirit of togetherness and inclusion.

"This is in line with the spirit of the unity government where we are able to celebrate our diversity in unity under one roof," he said in a Facebook post Sunday (Jan 22).
