Covid-19 Watch: 371 new cases, says Health Ministry


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 371 new Covid-19 infections on Wednesday (Jan 18), says the Health Ministry.

The Health Ministry said through data released on its KKMNow portal on Thursday (Jan 19) that this brings the new total to 5,033,625 cases since the pandemic began.

Of the 371, there is one imported case and the remaining 370 are local.

The ministry also said through its KKMNow portal that there were 304 recoveries on Saturday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 10,390.

Of the active cases, 96% or 9,970 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 3.9% of active cases or 404 individuals need to be hospitalised, with 16 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.

A total of 14 out of the 16 patients warded in intensive care units require ventilator support.
