Cabinet ministers join senior civil service officers for retreat to boost unity, strengthen govt machinery


PUTRAJAYA: The retreat for the ministers and senior officers in the civil service was held to strengthen the unity among Cabinet members of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s unity administration.

The Corporate Communications Division of the National Institute of Public Administration (Intan) said that all 27 Cabinet members and 10 senior officers in the civil service had participated in the unity government retreat programme at Seri Perdana here.

"In line with the wishes of YAB the Prime Minister to incorporate the remedial and reform agendas into the administration of the unity government, the retreat programme comprised briefing sessions on important aspects towards strengthening service delivery and the governance of the government machinery," it said in a statement Sunday (Jan 15).

These included government structure, public administration affairs, management of government finances and procurement, international conferences and the country’s interests, government protocol and professionalism, sustainable development, economic scenarios and challenges along with briefings on media communication.

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali also briefed the attendees on Key Performance Index (KPIs) for Cabinet ministers during the retreat.
