Hajiji regains full focus to develop Sabah, says Tenom MP

KOTA KINABALU: With Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor (pic) being able to give his full focus on developing the state again, the people of Tenom can expect an accelerated growth in the district, which is located in the interior division.

Tenom Member of Parliament Riduan Rubin said that Hajiji has previously acknowledged Tenom’s huge potential in the agriculture and tourism sectors.

“On behalf of the people of Tenom, I congratulate our Chief Minister for having passed one of the toughest tests in his illustrious political career,” said Riduan, in reference to the state political turmoil.

“Now he’s back to focusing his time and energy on developing the state, we in Tenom are looking forward to his leadership in trying to turn around our fortunes.

“As Chief Minister and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah chairman, Hajiji has been a commanding figure in leading the government machinery and communities to achieve the ambitions of the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) roadmap.

“He is without question a visionary leader and the people of Tenom will always be strongly behind him,” he said in a statement on Thursday (Jan 12).

Riduan said that in view of the relocation of Indonesia’s capital to Kalimantan, this would create a lot of economic opportunities for the people in the southern district, located not far from the Sabah-Kalimantan border.

He expressed confidence that with continued political stability under Hajiji’s leadership, development plans in the district will enter into an exciting chapter.

“I believe Hajiji foresees the economic spillover once the capital of Indonesia in Kalimantan is fully established.

“Ultimately, he and his government want Sabahans to have a higher income that comes from robust economic growth. And he knows that Tenom is an important gateway,” said Riduan, who contested as an Independent in GE15 and is friendly to KDM.
