MMEA foils bid to smuggle subsidised fuel in Kudat


The suspects were detained in Kudat after trying to smuggle subsidised fuel to a neighbouring country.

KOTA KINABALU: Maritime authorities managed to foil an attempt by two men to smuggle subsidised fuel to a neighbouring country through Kudat waters in northern Sabah early Wednesday (Jan 11).

The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) received a tip-off that a pump boat was headed to the country's maritime borders from the Kudat mainland at 2.50am Wednesday.
