M'sian Bar wants govt to amend IPCC Act before it comes into force


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Bar wants the government to amend the Independent Police Conduct Commission Act before it comes into force in June 2023.

Malaysian Bar president Karen Cheah, in a statement Thursday (Dec 22), said that the Bar had consistently expressed concerns over the IPCC Act and was a vocal advocate for the establishment of an Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) with disciplinary authority.
