A TEACHER in Kota Baru heard peculiar sounds from the bonnet of her MPV while the engine was warming up.

When she popped the hood to see what was wrong, the 53-year-old woman was shocked to see a 60kg reticulated python curled up near the battery compartment, Kosmo! reported.

This happened when she was about to leave for school.

Kota Baru Malaysian Civil Defence Force operations control centre chief Siti Nur Zakiah Abdul Halim said the woman called for help and personnel from the agency rushed to the scene.

They took 10 minutes to remove the 3m snake using special tools.

> Sinar Harian reported that a human trafficker was arrested after leading police on a chase near Gua Musang on Wednesday.

Gua Musang OCPD Supt Sik Choon Foo said investigations found that the man would charge illegal immigrants RM250 each for his services.

He was also believed to have arranged for five Myanmar nationals from Rantau Panjang, Kelantan to be sent to Bentong, Pahang.

“Police in a patrol car spotted the car driven by the 30-year-old male suspect with five others in the vehicle,” he said.

The culprit sped off when he realised that police were attempting to stop his car.

However, he was apprehended after his car collided with the patrol car. The suspect tested positive for methamphetamine.

She said the teenager had been fine the day before when he attended a press conference.

“Now he is still sleeping but his condition is okay. He hasn’t had much rest lately,” she said, adding that the boy had been working non-stop.
