Bruce Lee filming in Johor?

OSCAR-WINNING director Ang Lee’s (pic) recent visit to Johor Baru is said to have been to scout for filming locations for his upcoming biopic on the legendary kungfu star Bruce Lee, reported China Press.

The 68-year-old director, who previously filmed parts of his movie Lust, Caution in Penang and Ipoh, was photographed enjoying bak kut teh with his crew at a restaurant in the city in November.

The shop owner later posted a photo on Facebook of him with Lee giving the thumbs up.

Fans are speculating that Lee is trying to find new locations for his film as the martial arts icon was said to have ties to a steam bun shop that was once based in Johor Baru.

The operators of Kung Fu JB Pau once claimed to have made the steamed bun that the actor was captured eating on a photograph.

“Our old shop (in Lenggong, Perak) used to sell the Fujian pau. They are big and firm, and are nicknamed the “thunder god” pau.

“As we’re the only ones who made such pau, we concluded that the one eaten by Bruce Lee (in the photograph) must be ours,” the operator said in 2010.

The shop has since relocated to Singapore.

> The daily also reported that Malaysian singer Gary Chaw was photographed in public for the first time after his divorce.

Wearing an oversized T-shirt, shorts and a baseball cap, the 43-year-old father of two was seen driving his TW$4mil (RM571,527) black Ferrari to pick up his daughter from school and back to his mansion in Beitou, Taipei, Taiwan.

When he noticed the paparazzi, Chaw, who had removed his facemask after alighting from the car with his daughter, angrily put it back on and pointed at them.

Chaw, who is originally from Sabah, and Wu Shuling announced on Nov 26 that they were officially divorced after 14 years of marriage.
