Seven arrested in Kepong entertainment outlet raid


KUALA LUMPUR: Six foreign women working as guest relations officers (GROs) were among seven people detained in a raid at an entertainment outlet at Taman Usahawan Kepong here.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai said police raided the premises at about 11.15pm on Sunday (Nov 27).

"We detained a local man as well as the foreign women aged between 28 and 37.

"The outlet was operating without a proper licence," he added in a statement on Monday (Nov 28).

Various items were seized including audio equipment and business receipts, he said.

"We are investigating under Section 4(1) of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur Entertainment Act as well as the Immigration Act," he said.

ACP Beh advised the public to adhere to the law as stern action will be taken against those who flout it.

"We urge those with information on any criminal activity to call the Sentul district police headquarters operations room at 03-4048 2222.”
