Selangor MB congratulates Anwar on appointment as 10th PM

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor government has conveyed its congratulations to Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on his appointment as the 10th Prime Minister.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said he hoped that this would also ease the governance between the state and federal governments.

"We are prepared to aid the Tambun MP to lead the country, especially in the face of tough economic challenges next year," he said.

He said this after the Palace announced that Anwar, who is also PKR president, was to be sworn in as the next prime minister.

When asked on the possibility of joining the new Cabinet, Amirudin, who was also Gombak MP, said he would prefer to continue governing the state.

"My personal opinion is that I would prefer to stay here as there are many plans that I would like to see completed, such as the First Selangor Plan," he said on the sidelines of the state assembly sitting here on Thursday (Nov 24).

Anwar is expected to be sworn in as the country's 10th Prime Minister at 5pm Thursday.
