GE15: PN did not offer me PM post, says Hishammuddin

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein (pic) has denied that he was offered the prime minister post by Perikatan Nasional.

The Sembrong MP from Umno said he has never been involved in any negotiation, either with Perikatan or Pakatan Harapan.

He said the article published by Bahasa Malaysia daily Sinar Harian claiming that he had been offered the top job was untrue.

"Many have spread this article. I want to verify that this claim is completely untrue.

"I have never been offered any positions.

"If Sinar Harian does not retract the article immediately, I will take legal action," said Hishammuddin in a post on his Facebook on Thursday morning (Nov 24).

Hishamuddin had stood his ground on not having Barisan cooperate with Pakatan to form the federal government after the 15th general election saw no coalition securing a simple majority in Parliament.

However, on Thursday (Nov 24), the Umno supreme council unanimously decided to support and obey the King's order for Barisan to support and take part in a unity government not led by Perikatan.
