Actress Nad Zainal in ICU due to lung infection

ACTRESS Nad Zainal (pic) is reported to be unconscious and is now being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) at a private medical centre in Selangor due to a bacterial infection in her lungs, Harian Metro reported.

Nad, whose full name is Farah Nadia Zainal Abidin, is 32 years old.

According to director and producer Shahrulezad Mohameddin, Nad was reported to be in a stable condition as of Tuesday afternoon.

However, she is still under supervision.

“I was very surprised when Nad was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance on Monday night. She is still in the ICU and unconscious as of Tuesday,” he said.

“Her condition is said to be stable. I’m also worried about her children who are now being looked after by her personal assistant,” he said.

Shahrulezad asked fans and the public to pray for Nad’s well-being.

“We feel bad to promote our drama which will be shown on TV considering the situation (Nad) is in now.

“Two weeks ago, she met me. At the time, she was fine, it was just that she looked a little tired and stressed.

“I didn’t think she was in pain and I don’t think she even knew about her illness,” he said

Others said that most of the elderly are fluent in English as they used to go to English medium school during the British colonial era.

“There used to be many English school streams, all subjects were taught in English except Islam and the Malay language,” wrote another user.

“My late father also spoke English fluently with his siblings because in the 60s, he went to a white (English) school, the majority of old people were good in English,” commented a user.
