GE15: BN's Zahid, Tok Mat arrive at Istana Negara for audience with King

KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has arrived at the Istana Negara for an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Ahmad Zahid arrived at around 10.40am.

It is learnt that Barisan Nasional deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan has also arrived for an audience with the King.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has summoned the 30 Barisan MPs for an audience at Istana Negara individually at 10.30am today.

Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had both been summoned by the King to Istana Negara at 4.30pm on Tuesday as no coalition had the majority following last Saturday’s general election.

Both Muhyiddin and Anwar have been named as the prime minister candidates of their respective coalitions.

However, a suggestion for both coalitions to form a unity government was declined.
