ALOR SETAR: At least 18 Barisan Nasional MPs have stated their support for Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to be the 10th Prime Minister, says Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor (pic).

The Kedah Mentri Besar then said that several Barisan MPs have stated their willingness to be with Perikatan Nasional.

"Muhyiddin is expected to be sworn in as the prime minister at Istana Negara in a ceremony at 4pm on Monday (Nov 21),” he said in a speech at the state Perikatan Nasional thanksgiving dinner at the Kedah PAS Complex here on Sunday (Nov 20) night.

He said the list of those who have stated they support Perikatan will be sent to Istana Negara before 2pm and that the swearing-in will be at 4pm.

Muhammad Sanusi said Perikatan had called Umno to be together with them in the coalition before this but the party had rejected calls for cooperation.

"We asked them to join us but they refused. This is the fault of (Barisan chairman) Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, but those who bore the shame are Umno members," he added.
