GOMBAK: Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari (pic) was announced the winner of the Gombak parliamentary seat at about 3.30am after a two-hour delay due to voter turnout figures.
According to returning officer Nor Azlina Abdul Aziz, a candidate had sought clarification about the voter turnout for the Gombak constituency.
"It took our officers some time to clarify the matter, but all has been resolved and Amirudin has been declared the winner. We had a 80.8% voter turnout," she said.
Amirudin (Pakatan Harapan-PKR) won the seat with 72,267 votes - a majority of 12,729.
