GE15: Enforcers deployed to assist voters in interior Sabah areas due to flood

KOTA KINABALU: Enforcers have been deployed at some areas in the interior Sabah’s Pensiangan that have been stricken by floods, says Sook Fire Station chief Razlan Aridy.

He added that firefighters, civil defence and army personnel were deployed to some locations in the area to assist voters who were affected by the disaster.

“In Pensiangan, there were some problems where a number of locals were affected by the flood and could not go out to vote. Therefore, we have delivered assistance by deploying enforcers.

“However, the situation is under control and all polling centres are operating as usual,” Razlan said on Saturday (Nov 19).

It was learned that the security enforcers were using lorries to mobilise the voters to the polling stations in the area.

Razlan added that for areas in Nabawan and Sook, the water level has receded and the public could go out to cast their votes at respective centres.

Earlier, it was reported that water level has risen in Kg Magulasing and Kg Lima in Nabawan due to overnight rains in the area.
