BENTONG: Barisan Nasional's candidate Tan Sri Liow Tiong Lai has cast his vote at SK Sulaiman here at 9.40am on Saturday (Nov 19).

The Bentong parliamentary candidate urged Malaysians to come out “in droves” to carry out their responsibility as citizens.

“It is raining, so I urged Bentong people to come out early and vote,” he said, adding that today is a significant day for the constituency.

According to Election Commission statistics from Aug 16, 2022, there are 87,110 registered voters in Bentong.

Liow was accompanied by his wife Puan Sri Lee Sun Loo, parents Liow Yu Yin and Yap Kim Pee, all voting at the same polling centre.

He added that he is pleased to see the smooth voting process at the centre, saying that polling agents from all political parties were present to ensure a transparent process.

Liow is up against Pakatan Harapan candidate Young Syefura Othman, independent incumbent Wong Tack, Perikatan Nasional's Datuk Roslan Hassan and independent candidate Mohd Khalil Abdul Hamid.
