Goodies galore await voters on polling day

GEORGE TOWN: Treats await those who cast their votes in the 15th General Election (GE15) on Saturday (Nov 19).

They must show their inked fingers at selected outlets to be eligible for the goodies.

Among the offerings are from Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) where no purchase is needed.

Anyone with an inked finger to prove that they have voted in GE15 may redeem a small popcorn from any of its outlets nationwide.

"Polling day is a big day for Malaysia and we want to celebrate the occasion with a special treat for all Malaysians who went out to do their civic duty to vote for the future of the country.

"Voters who show us their inked fingers can enjoy a complimentary small popcorn from any of our GSC theatres nationwide, no purchase necessary.

"Stocks are limited, however, so the popcorn is available on a first-come, first-served basis," said its Public Relations and Branding senior manager Sharmine Ishak.

He added that the small popcorn is valued at RM9 when purchased a la carte at their concessions counters.

Meanwhile, dessert brand Coolblog is offering free topping with any drink purchase.

TGI Fridays restaurants are offering 15% off on all burgers and similarly, Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart is offering 15% off on its classic cheese tarts.

Marrybrown is offering a piece of its fried chicken with any purchase of its combo meal.

With any purchase of a la carte menu items from Old Town White Coffee, customers with inked fingers will get a free cup of white coffee.

Tealive and The Alley beverage company are both offering two drinks for only RM15 on Saturday.

Apart from food outlets, other businesses are also offering promotions to encourage people to go out and vote.

Iconic Hotel Penang is offering 15% off on its room rate between Nov 18 and 20, and Seri Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur is offering its Deluxe Room for only RM250 per night between Nov 17 and 20.

Easy Home hardware store is offering redemption of either face masks, face shields or a bag with a minimum RM10 spent at its stores between Nov 19 and 21.

For karaoke lovers, Redbox is offering 15% off for all room charges on Saturday and 30% off to those with inked fingers.

The promotions are among hundreds being offered by various businesses in the country to reward voters for fulfilling their national responsibility.
