GE15: Prabakaran urges Tian Chua to withdraw from Batu race

KUALA LUMPUR: P. Prabakaran is urging Tian Chua to withdraw from contesting the Batu parliamentary seat as the seat could fall out of Pakatan Harapan's grip.

Prabakaran, who is the Incumbent Batu MP, said that the action by the former PKR vice-president, whose real name is Chu Tian Chang, could split votes further in the already crowded list of candidates for the constituency.

"I feel disappointed that it has come to this as he (Tian Chua) helped me a lot over the past four years.

"If he doesn't withdraw, this would confuse voters and only affect the party.

"Pakatan cannot afford to lose even a single seat," he said during a press conference in Sentul here on Sunday (Nov 6).

"I hope Batu voters will continue to support the party," he said.

On Saturday (Nov 5), Tian Chua, filed his nomination papers to contest the Batu seat as an independent candidate in GE15.

In GE14, Tian Chua, who was disqualified from standing, had endorsed and supported Prabakaran who stood as an independent and eventually won.

Batu will have 10 candidates vying for the seat, the most in the country.
