PKR may reconsider Sg Buloh candidate after KJ named as BN hopeful, says Rafizi

PETALING JAYA: PKR may reconsider its candidate for the Sungai Buloh parliamentary seat after Umno's Khairy Jamaluddin was named as Barisan Nasional's hopeful.

PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli said he would be discussing with party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on the feedback from Sungai Buloh voters regarding PKR candidate Datuk R. Ramanan.

"I appreciate all views. The final decision is his decision as the president of the party," Rafizi tweeted on Wednesday (Nov 2), referring to Anwar.

There had been calls by party supporters to reinstate former incumbent Sivarasa Rasiah to contest the Sungai Buloh seat in order to face the tough fight with the highly popular Khairy.

This was after Anwar announced on Oct 28 that Ramanan would be contesting the Sungai Buloh seat instead of Sivarasa.

Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had announced on Tuesday (Nov 1) that Khairy, who is Health Minister and former Rembau MP, would be fielded in Sungai Buloh.
