GE15: PKR's Hasni Abas to take on Hishammuddin in Sembrong


PETALING JAYA: PKR will field its Parit Sulong division chief Hasni Abas in the Sembrong parliamentary seat for the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15).

"Hasni has to shoulder a big responsibility to defeat (Barisan Nasional's) Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein (pic) there," PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli said when making the announcement at party headquarters here Tuesday (Nov 1).

Rafizi added in jest that Hasni shouldn't come back if he is defeated.

Hasni received his early education in Batu Pahat, before continuing his studies at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in literature and political science.

He also has a Master's in literature from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

Hasni, a senior official at Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, is known as a Malay language activist in the country's literary circles.
