Kolam vandalism: Two people behind viral video arrested

KLANG: Two people have been arrested in connection with the viral TikTok video of a man seen vandalising a Deepavali kolam at KPJ Klang Specialist Hospital.

The two – the man seen in the video and the person who recorded it – were arrested after they turned up at the North Klang police headquarters on Sunday night (Oct 30).

Both have been remanded for three days.

North Klang OCPD Asst Comm S. Vijaya Rao confirmed the arrests.

The video of the incident, showing the man purposely walking over the kolam and vandalising it, had caused widespread outrage online.

A police investigation was launched after a police report was lodged against the video.

In a statement on Sunday, KPJ Klang Specialist Hospital said it had been informed of the video that allegedly depicted one of its employees.

"KPJ Klang does not condone any act of disrespect among its staff within the compound of the hospital. We have launched an internal investigation and stern action will be taken should our staff be involved," it had said.
