GE15: Parti Cinta Sabah most likely to contest in Kimanis seat

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) is very likely to contest in the Kimanis parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election, says its Deputy President Datuk Ansari Abdullah.

“There are so many promises to the Kimanis folks in GE14 and 2020 state elections which have not been executed.

“The people of Sabah are still waiting until today on what was promised to them.

“Therefore, at the demand and urging of the people especially in Kimanis, I can guarantee that PCS is most likely to contest in Kimanis parliament in GE15,” Ansari said in a statement on Monday (Oct 31).

The Kimanis seat was won by Umno’s first timer Datuk Mohamad Alamin in the 2020 by-election against Parti Warisan’s candidate Datuk Karim Bujang, a veteran politician who made a comeback.

PCS president Datuk Seri Anifah Aman was previously a four-term Kimanis MP (2004-2019) when he was still with BN.

The by-election was held after the court in 2019 nullified Anifah’s victory in GE14.

“PCS is not looking to gain positions, but what is important for us is to ensure the rights as stated in Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and 1962 IGC report are pursued.

“Maybe it is time for Sabah folks to turn into a new political pact for the interests of Sabahan rights.

“If Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) and Sabah STAR only require one seat to allow them to voice (at the parliamentary level), why can’t PCS?” said Ansari.

He said despite offers from various quarters to collaborate, the party is only interested to work with those who can achieve the goals of giving Sabah people their rights and not make empty promises.
