GE15: Johor BN to unveil all 26 candidates on Nov 3, says Dr Adham

KOTA TINGGI: Johor Barisan Nasional will finally unveil its candidates for all 26 parliament seats in Johor for the 15th General Election (GE15) next Thursday (Nov 3), says Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba (pic).

The state Umno information chief said the matter was decided during a Johor Barisan meeting chaired by its chairman Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad at Johor Umno headquarters on Wednesday (Oct 26) night.

“We will unveil all of our GE15 candidates on Nov 3 night at Johor Umno headquarters.

“Johor Barisan will be among the earliest in revealing the candidates. Meanwhile, our machinery will be launched at EduCity Indoor Stadium in Iskandar Puteri on Nov 2,” he added.

Dr Adham, who is the incumbent Tenggara MP, said this when met after presenting Social Security Organisation (Socso) pension aid to Muhammad Redzuan Jamil at Kampung Batu 4 here on Thursday (Oct 27).

Muhammad Redzuan lost his wife, Nurul Nazihah Kamalul Arifin, who died tragically in their burning car after a four-vehicle crash at KM45.7 of the North-South Expressway on Oct 15 night.

A video, which showed Muhammad Redzuan wailing in grief as his wife was pinned in the burning car on the highway went viral on social media.

Meanwhile, when asked about the authenticity of a Johor Barisan GE15 candidate list that has been leaked on social media, Dr Adham, who is also the caretaker Science, Technology and Innovation Minister, declined to comment.

The alleged Johor Barisan candidate list being circulated shows several big names have been dropped, including Umno secretary-general and incumbent Pontian MP Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.

The list also showed that Umno would also be contesting in the Tebrau parliamentary seat, which is normally contested by MCA in the general election.
