PM extends condolences to Wan Azizah over mother's passing


KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has conveyed his condolences to former Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and family on the death of her mother, Datin Mariah Khamis.

"On behalf of Keluarga Malaysia (Malaysian Family), I extend my condolences to Dr Wan Azizah and her family on the passing of her beloved mother, Datin Mariah Khamis.

"May her soul be placed among the pious. Al-Fatihah,” he said in a post on his official Twitter account on Monday (Oct 24).

Mariah died early today and her death was confirmed by PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who said his mother-in-law’s remains would be taken to the Al-Mustaqim Mosque, Ampang, at 11.30 am for the funeral prayers.
