Last-minute shoppers throng Little India for bargains

GEORGE TOWN: Weaving through the bad traffic and facing the scarcity of parking space are by no means easy tasks, but Little India will always be the place for S. Thanabalan and his family to do their last-minute Deepavali shopping.

Every year, Thanabalan makes a point of coming to Little India to buy things such as new clothes, Deepavali cookies, and other sundries in preparation to welcome the Festival of Lights.
