Job scams: 10 more victims rescued but people still falling prey, says Chong

KUALA LUMPUR: Rescued victims of job scams have been urged to cooperate with the police to help curb further incidents and for justice to be done in their own cases, says Datuk Seri Michael Chong.

The MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head said they were still receiving reports of people falling for fake job offers and being trafficked overseas.

The victims are reported to be in Myanmar and Laos, he said in a statement on Sunday (Oct 23) noting the safe return of 10 victims from Cambodia.

"According to our Ambassador to Cambodia Datuk Eldeen Husaini Mohd Hashim, seven were rescued some weeks ago while the other three were saved recently.

"He added that he was concerned that despite numerous warnings, it is evident that people are still falling for the scams based on the visas found," he added.
