Covid-19 Watch: 1,291 new cases, says Health Ministry


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 1,291 new Covid-19 infections on Tuesday (Oct 11), says the Health Ministry.

The Health Ministry said through data released on its KKMNow portal on Wednesday (Oct 12) that this brings the new total to 4,857,508 cases since the pandemic began.

Of the 1,291, two are imported cases while 1,289 are local.

The ministry also said through its CovidNow portal that there were 1,592 recoveries on Tuesday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 21,863.

Of the active cases, 95.6% or 20,897 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 4.2% of active cases or 920 individuals need to be hospitalised, with 46 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.

Of that number, 22 require ventilator support.
