Broken barrier leads to minor flooding in Kuala Selangor

KUALA SELANGOR: A broken barrier led to minor flooding in Kuala Selangor here, following high tides early Tuesday (Oct 11) morning.

When contacted, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said that Jalan Masjid Tanjung Karang, Pekan Tg Karang and Taman Kopema were affected.

"The incident involved a barrier that was broken during upgrading works and water spilled over to the road and nearby housing areas," he said.

The water levels were recorded to be around three feet.

A senior citizen was moved to a nearby family member's house due to the minor flooding.

"No evacuation centres have been activated. The situation is under control and water levels are receding," he said.
