20 homes lost in morning fire


KOTA KINABALU: Over 200 people lost their homes when a fire razed some 20 semi-concrete houses in Kudat district.

The fire at Kampung Tanjung Kapur was reported at around 2.30am, said State Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Misran Bisara.

He said 20 houses at the water village were destroyed, while no injuries were reported. Some of the victims who woke up from the smoke had raised the alarm.”
