All systems go for Budget 2023 at 4pm today, says KJ

PETALING JAYA: Budget 2023 will be tabled at Dewan Rakyat at 4pm today, confirms Khairy Jamaluddin.

"Budget? Yes, it will be tabled this evening," the Health Minister told Sinar Harian after a Cabinet meeting at Perdana Putra on Friday (Oct 7).

The Cabinet meeting started at 10am, chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Speculation has been rife that the Parliament could be dissolved before the Budget is tabled, paving the way for a snap general election.

However, the expectations of a Parliament dissolution came crumbling down after the Prime Minister had his audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, with Istana Negara issuing a statement later saying that the meeting was the regular weekly one the Prime Minister has with the King.

It made no reference to the dissolution of Parliament.
