Johor cops detect video of boy who sat on 16th floor window ledge at Larkin condo

JOHOR BARU: Police have detected a video which went viral showing a boy sitting on a window ledge in a condominium block here.

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said the 21-second video was uploaded in the Komuniti Roda Johor (CRJ) Facebook.

"Our investigations showed that the incident happened on Wednesday (Oct 5) at the condominium block in Larkin," he said in a statement.

ACP Raub said the seven-year-old boy who visited his uncle’s house was seen playing outside the window of the condominium unit located on the 16th floor without the knowledge of family members.

He said when police arrived at the unit, the boy had already left with his family to their home in Pasir Gudang.

"We have advised the child's uncle to install metal grilles on the windows of the unit for safety purposes and to prevent unwanted incidents," added ACP Raub.

He reminded parents or guardians to closely monitor their children’s behaviours and activities which could lead to untoward accidents.
